Next UK Trade Mission to Cuba organized by Lord Triesman of Cuba Initiative, Caribbean Council will take place from 16th to 19th June, Havana Cuba. The mission has the support of Mr Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
The PET course was designed to train Cuban researchers and professionals to work with new kinds of short-life isotopes generated using the cyclotron installed at the Medical Surgical Research Centre in Havana. This technology will offer new possibilities in the early diagnostic of cancer and new applications in neurosciences and cardiovascular research.
The Conference will take place at The Francis Crick Institute on Saturday 3rd November. The Francis Crick Institute is a state-of–the-art discovery research institute dedicated to understanding the biology underlying health and diseases and open to scientific translation.
Cancer is the second cause of death in Cuba after cardiovascular diseases and the first cause of potential lost years of life since 2003.
