BLACK LIVES MATTER resonated in the program of the Caribbean Science and Innovation Meeting back in 2019 (CSIM 2019). The organizers, the Caribbean Academy of Sciences, CARISCIENCE, Caribbean Science Foundation, and the Université de les Antilles in Guadeloupe dedicate a day to reflect on our past and present visiting the Memorial ACTe on the history of slavery.

The Cuban Researchers in the UK

Cuban academics and researchers working in the United Kingdom will gather to discuss initiatives regarding collaboration within the community and with colleagues from institutions in Cuba and Europe. The event will take place in the Friends House (Margaret Fell Room, 173-177 Euston Road, London W1 2BJ) on the 26th of September 2020, between 1:30 to 5:00 pm.

Pan American Health Organization strengthen capacities among the Caribbean States to fight covid-19 pandemic

The Pan American health organization (PAHO) begun preparing laboratories in the Caribbean region to perform early diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 (now covid-19) since 12th February by training virologists from Central America and the Caribbean (Cuba and the Dominican Republic).

Caribbean Science and Innovation Meeting 2019

Researchers from the region gathered last month in Guadeloupe to discuss common problems and the ways of targeting them by broadening cooperation and links between Caribbean academic research and industry. The Caribbean Science and Innovation Meeting 2019 hosted by the Université des Antilles aimed to harness positive experiences from previous meetings organized by the Caribbean Academy of Sciences, CARISCIENCE, and Caribbean Science Foundation.

Dominica is transforming the health system aiming to achieve universal coverage and access, in a people- and community-centred programme. Triggered by the devastation suffered in the community after Hurricane Maria in September 2017 the country was since committed to strengthening the health system and primary health care services. Cuban science and technology open to the world

Successful Workshop in Havana. Positron Emission Tomography: Technology and Applications

The PET course was designed to train Cuban researchers and professionals to work with new kinds of short-life isotopes generated using the cyclotron installed at the Medical Surgical Research Centre in Havana. This technology will offer new possibilities in the early diagnostic of cancer and new applications in neurosciences and cardiovascular research.
